Okay, I'm not sure the meaning of this, but drawn by the sound of a small motor, I found this fan trained on 3 strange pairs of shoes....

Photo of the week (cheating version)

I'm cheating with several photos this time. On our fall retreat in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia we experienced many variations in weather.

The Week

We had a flood on our front yard.

People came and we had a dance party.

We went biking

And took the ferry and got ice cream the last day of the season.

The End.

Tilghman Island

Last weekend consisted of an oyster feed, a stand-up comedy performance and a concert! We headed to Tilghman Island for all three.

Oyster newbies.

For the comedy performance, we headed to a local church to hear Becky, an alum from last year's class perform. Right after, Daniel, another alum, held a concert with his band. Both were excellent, you can find Daniel's music here.

Windrush wind and waves.

Many more to come from this eventful Thursday, but for now...

And now we play the waiting game...

So, just in case this blog is your only source of information about TFA, you should know that we do things. Important things. Like, say, go to conferences. Patrick, the Covingtons, and I are currently at a CCEF conference in Louisville, KY. The events depicted in the following video took place while waiting for a shuttle to get from the airport to the conference where we are now. Also, don't worry...we are all being super productive; I'm posting this during lunch break.

What Ginger Saw

Ginger's Log: 17 October 2011, 2:11 pm

Was sauntering by Pilot House right before Second Naptime, and saw Krista and Patrick swoop in to help Meredith flip Pilot House before class. Wise Cat say: many paws make light work. Mission accomplished in a record 17 minutes and 33 seconds. Meredith seemed pretty blessed and stuff.

Then I meowed at a lodge guest.

"It's friday, friday...gonna pier jump on friday!"

Friday was wonderful.  We learned with Skip, completed some lodge work, engaged on engage papers while enjoying a warm fall day, frolicked around Osprey Point, and ate a wonderful dinner with Bobby's family.  Here are a few shots to capture our afternoon of frolicking.

How deep will it be? How cold will it be? The spirit of fun prevails...

Shallow!  Only a little cold!

I can only avoid this white stuff for so long...

Race time.

Sweet daydreams.

Pretty faces.

Drop a birthday beat.

Austin's 26th birthday (10.3.11) was celebrated in the midst of many surprises - rainbows and shadows, latin hats and ninja-esque streamer head bands, austina stockings and trail mix easter eggs, bony knees and pyramid prowess. Go team go.

Happy fellows.

Take one...

Take two!

Bobby cooks!

Overheard:

Krista: Bobby, how much direction do you want me to give you?

Bobby: A lot.

Love from Sadie! Julia! Anna!

This weekend you saw Sadie, who is your full time lady
Now it's just us, so PARTY ON.  Windrush is rockin', baby.

We're here to celebrate you and all your 26 years
To speak of all your hopes and all your dreams and all your fears

So now we'll get to know our new close friend Austina
We'll dance and we will sing so move your hips like you're Latina

We're so glad that you're part of good ole TFA
So everybody drop the beat for "Happy Birthday"...
